1) Julie and Marisa each have a dog that they take on a walk every day after school. Julie takes her dog on a 35-block walk and it takes her 50min to do it. Marisa takes her dog on a 28-block walk and it takes her 34 minutes to do it.

a) Who walk faster, Julie or Marisa? How do you know?

b) If Marisa walked at the constant rate mentioned above, how many blocks will she have walked her dog if they walked for 60min?

c) If Julie walked at the constant rate found above, how long would it take her to walk her dog 50 blocks?

2) Dylan surfs the net looking for a good deal on downloading songs. He comes across two webpages that look to be the best. “MP3 Headquarters” advertises 3 dollars for 40 songs! “The MP3 Kings” advertise 8 dollars for 100 songs!

a) Which one of the webpages presents the better deal, MP3 Headquarter or MP3 Kings? How do you know?

b) Write an expression that represents the cost of buying x number of songs from the MP3 Kings:

c) If MP3 Kings continued to sell songs at the same rate, how much would it cost for 150 songs?
