Points and stuff

Today we talked about points, lines, rays, space, and so on. We emphasized that each of these is an idea, not a “real” thing. The following questions are meant to help you think more about this.

1. Imagine that you can see individual atoms that make up this sheet of paper. But there is space between atoms. How can we then think about “the point that is half way between two atoms at a particular moment in time”?

2. What is the difference between drawing a circle and representing a circle? Can anyone actually draw a circle?
